Smith asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment further to Parliamentary Question No. 91 of 20 November 1997, the progress, if any, made in relation to the need to attract inward investment to County Cavan; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The matter to which the Deputy refers is the responsibility of IDA Ireland and Forbairt, under the Industrial Development Acts 1986 to 1995, and not one in which I have a direct function. I have, however, forwarded the question to the chief executive officers of IDA Ireland and Forbairt and requested that they reply direct to you in this regard.
