148 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the areas of her Department that use answering machines; the savings involved in each case; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8742/98]
My Department has a centralised voice mail system for all staff who are attached to the main telephone switchboard in the Department. It is not possible to put a financial value on the savings generated by this system but it is intended to lead to greater efficiencies and provide an improved telephone service for both callers and staff.
