Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

604 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when work will commence on a new Garda station and other works (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8911/98]

The Office of Public Works has examined the options for the future accommodation of the gardaí at this location and have reported that the most economical solution would be the refurbishment of the old station. Planning has proceeded on this basis and garda management is currently examining a revised sketch scheme prepared on this basis.

It is not possible to say at this stage when this project might commence as there are a number of projects to be completed ahead of it.
