Vol. 490 No. 6

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Bradford — the future of the motor apprenticeship school at Davis College, Mallow, County Cork; (2) Deputy Seán Ryan — the need to discuss the implications of the decision taken by the staff of the day care nurseries in the greater Dublin area to take industrial action, given that they have not had a pay rise for the past ten years and the Eastern Health Board has refused to implement a Labour Court recommendation on their claim; (3) Deputy Fox — the need to discuss the plans being made to replace the installation aid scheme.

The matters raised by Deputies Fox, Seán Ryan and Bradford have been selected for discussion.

There is no Minister in the House. What is the Standing Order on that?

Acting Chairman

There should be a Minister in the House. I have no doubt that note has been taken in the Whip's office.

I propose that the House be adjourned as there is no Minister here.

Acting Chairman

If the Minister is not here in 60 seconds I will suspend the sitting.
