Vol. 491 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Question:

73 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the progress, if any, on 1993 and 1995 beef premia for persons (details supplied) who were the subject of Parliamentary Question No. 101 of 1 April 1998. [11542/98]

The question of whether the lands-farm of the person named were run as a separate enterprise from that of another member of his family under whose herd number all lands were declared in 1993 has now been investigated. As a result of this investigation, it has been decided that the person named is due a further payment of £1,423.71 on 27 animals under the January 1993 special beef premium scheme. He is also due 1993 extensification premium of £711.72 on those animals. Those payments will issue shortly.

In relation to 1995 payments the Department does not have any breakdown of his forage acreage included in the area aid application also lodged in that year by another member of his family, under a different herd number. For this reason it is not possible to calculate his entitlement to premium for that year. The Department has written to both parties seeking the relevant information relating to apportionment of acreage.

When this information comes to hand, entitlement to premium will be established and any payment due will be made as soon as possible.
