Question:

101 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if, further to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 98, 99 and 102 of 11 December 1997, he will provide full details of the sentences received by persons convicted in 1996 under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1984, in which the value of drugs is recorded as exceeding £10,000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information which the Deputy has requested is not immediately to hand. However, the Garda have been requested to furnish this information, and I will forward the details to Deputy Upton as soon as they become available.
