Vol. 491 No. 1

Written Answers. - Second Chance Education.

Richard Bruton

Question:

117 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the differences in terms and conditions of access to second chance education under the back to education allowance and the voluntary training opportunity scheme; and if he will have arrangements made to co-ordinate the two schemes so that maximum benefits can be available in a nondiscriminatory way to participants. [11440/98]

The question of bringing the rate of allowance payable to VTOS participants into line with that paid for the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs back to education programmes is currently being considered in my Department.
