98 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to Parliamentary Question No. 252 on 28 February 1998, the number of gardaí officially assigned to each Garda station in the Mayo division for each of the years from 1995 to date; and the number of gardaí actually serving at each of the aforementioned stations. [12453/98]
The Garda authorities are responsible for the detailed deployment of Garda personnel to individual areas. They have expressed concern, and I share that concern, about providing the type of detailed information sought by the Deputy on the grounds of security and in the interest of crime prevention generally. I propose, therefore, to provide the Deputy with the information on a district basis for the period concerned.
