Vol. 491 No. 6

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

256 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will instruct the Land Registry to expedite a schedule for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact the delay is causing financial hardship and the matter has been ongoing for several years. [13106/98]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the dealing referred to involves registration by way of a Land Commission schedule. In the case of such schedules, the property is deemed to be registered as of the date of vesting by the Land Commission, in this case the date of vesting was 5 January, 1988. However, I can confirm that, in view of the circumstances referred to by the Deputy, the Land Registry will make every effort to expedite registration in this case.
