Vol. 491 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

72 Mr. Stagg asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will state the total and dates of all grants paid from State sources or agencies to a company (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12717/98]

I have consulted the relevant development agencies under the aegis of my Department — IDA Ireland, Forbairt, FÁS, ABT and the Wicklow County Enterprise Board — and I am informed that only FÁS paid grants to Arklow Shipping under their training support scheme, the total of which was £3,007.87. These grants were in respect of training for all grades of employees within the company, from management to general operatives.

I would also direct the Deputy to my colleague, the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources, who may also have responsibility for this issue.
