Vol. 491 No. 6

Written Answers. - Industrial Development.

Billy Timmins

Question:

75 Mr. Timmins asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the success, if any, her Department has had in its discussions with a company in the software industry with a view to its locating to Arklow, County Wicklow, as referred to in her meeting with the Arklow Urban District Council on 6 April 1998; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12925/98]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that IDA Ireland has been successful in persuading a software company to establish an operation in the IDA Business Park which I initiated following the announcement of the closure of Arklow Pottery.

For reasons of confidentiality and to safeguard the future of the project, IDA Ireland is not in a position, at this time, to divulge the name of the company. However an announcement is expected in the near future.
