Vol. 492 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Austin Currie

Question:

164 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Dublin will have an operation for knee replacement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13658/98]

I will require more detailed information concerning this patient to enable me to complete inquiries in this case. If the Deputy can indicate what hospital is involved, I will pursue the matter further. However, as in other such cases, the timing of a patient's admission to hospital is a clinical matter for decision by a patient's consultant and the Deputy should, in the first instance, contact the relevant hospital authorities.
