Vol. 492 No. 1

Written Answers. - Compulsory Purchase Orders.

Phil Hogan

Question:

176 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason for the delay in confirming the compulsory purchase order for the construction of the Piltown-Fiddown by-pass, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13717/98]

Consideration of the compulsory purchase order to which the Deputy refers, and a related environmental impact statement has reached an advanced stage, following their processing through various stages by my Department. There will be no avoidable delay on my part in determining the issue of whether the CPO should be confirmed.
