Vol. 492 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Offices.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

93 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food his views on the establishment of a district livestock office in west Cork; if he will now establish same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13563/98]

On 2 June I announced the transfer of agriculture offices from Cork city to Clonakilty. The transfer of part of the veterinary and livestock offices servicing the south-west region has been under consideration for some months and the establishment of an office in Clonakilty will facilitate farmers who had to travel long distances from south-west Cork to Cork city to do business.
