131 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the plans, if any, he has to introduce legislation to control the importation of exotic and wild animals; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13816/98]

I have no functional responsibility with regard to regulating the importation of exotic and wild animals. I understand that my colleague, the Minister for Agriculture and Food, answered a similar question from the Deputy on 3 June 1998.
