64 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Finance if he will make a statement on the progress of his talks with the EU Commission regarding the timetable for the proposed introduction of the 12.5 per cent rate of corporation tax. [13572/98]

The timetable for the introduction of the 12.5 per cent rate of corporation tax has not yet been finalised with the EU Commission. Discussions are at an advanced stage and I am hopeful that they can be concluded at an early date.
