Vol. 492 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Beverley Flynn

Question:

181 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Finance if the Office of Public Works can carry out repair works to damaged pipes at a location (details supplied) in County Mayo. [14015/98]

The Fahy-Ballycroy area of County Mayo is not within any catchment drainage scheme for which my office has responsibility under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945. My office's resources are fully committed to advancing the flood relief schemes on the current priority drainage programme and so is unable to consider the area for attention under the 1995 legislation. I understand that Mayo County Council have carried out emergency work in this area in the past to relieve road flooding.
