90 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the EU directives coming wholly or partly under the auspices of his Department that were not fully implemented as of 1 June 1998; the reference number and subject matter of each directive; the deadline for implementation set out in the directive; whether it is proposed to implement the directive by means of a Bill or by statutory instrument; and when it is proposed to implement the directive. In response to the Deputy's question the following table sets out the current position within my Department:

97/34	Amending Directive 93/75 concerning minimum requirements for vessels bound for or leaving Community ports and carrying dangerous or polluting goods.	30 September, 1997.	Will shortly be implemented by S.I.
98/18	Safety Rules and standards for passenger ships.	1 July, 1998.	Will be implemented by S.I., drafting in progress.
95/70	Introducing minimum Community measures for the control of certain diseases affecting bivalve molluscs	1 June 1997.	The directive is to be transposed into national law by way of Statutory Instrument. Draft Regulations transposing the Directive are with the Parliamentary Draftman's Office for settlement
95/71	Amends Directive 91/493 on health conditions for the production and placing on the market of fishery products	1 July, 1997.	Need for legislative action being considered, as Regulations which transposed Directive 91/493 may be sufficient
97/61	Amends the Annex to Directive 91/492 laying down the health conditions for the production and placing on the market of live bivalve molluscs	1 July 1998.	Need for legislative action being considered, as Regulations which transposed Directive 91/492 may be sufficient
