Vol. 492 No. 6

Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 31 from Deputy Tommy Broughan. I call on Deputy Broughan to state the matter of which he has given notice.

In accordance with Standing Order 31 I seek to move the Adjournment of the Dáil to discuss yesterday's announcement by the Tánaiste that unemployed people will be denied the dole in certain circumstances.

Having considered the matter fully I do not consider it to be one contemplated by Standing Order 31. Therefore I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
