Question:

136 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Finance the estimated yield to the Exchequer in 1998 as a result of the fact that the rate of the health levy is 1.25 per cent instead of the 1 per cent as in 1986-87. [15547/98]

The yield to the Exchequer, estimated by reference to the budget forecast for 1998, of levying health contributions at the rate of 1.25 per cent instead of 1 per cent is estimated at £48 million.
