Vol. 494 No. 3

Written Answers - MMI Stockbrokers Investigation.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

137 Mr. Broughan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she is considering an investigation under the Companies Act, 1990, of the operation of a firm (details supplied). [18199/98]

As the Central Bank of Ireland is the supervisory authority responsible for regulating the Irish Stock Exchange and as the bank is closely involved in monitoring the situation at MMI Stockbrokers at present, I am not considering an investigation into this company under the Companies Acts.
