Vol. 494 No. 3

Written Answers - Garda Stations.

Liam Aylward

Question:

203 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance the progress, if any, to date on the provision of a new Garda station in an area (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [18168/98]

Purchase of the site was conditional on archaeological material not being present and the provision by the vendor of an access road. Recent tests have established that archaeological material is not present. The local authority has granted planning permission for the proposed road.

Thomastown is one of a number of new stations on the Garda building programme priority list. Construction work will commence on the site as soon as funding is available.
