Vol. 494 No. 4

Written Answers. - Personal Assistance Service.

John McGuinness

Question:

287 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department or the South Eastern Health Board will provide special funding for a personal assistant for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is 14 years of age and has a physical disability due to an accident and is attending second level education in Kilkenny College. [18383/98]

The making of arrangements for the provision of personal assistance services in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, I have referred the Deputy's question to the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board and asked him to have this case examined as a matter of urgency and to reply directly to the Deputy.
