376 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the amount of money allocated to off-shore islands for ferry services in 1997 for Gaeltacht and non-Gaeltacht islands. [18649/98]

377 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the funding, if any, available for the provision of ferry services to off-shore islands for Gaeltacht and non-Gaeltacht islands. [18650/98]

The following tabular statement gives a breakdown of the moneys paid by my Department in respect of ferry services to the Gaeltacht and non-Gaeltacht islands in 1997 and 1998. It should be noted also that funding £306,250 was paid through the Vote of Roinn an Taoisigh in 1997 for the services to the Aran Islands.
