Vol. 494 No. 5

Written Answers. - Centenarians' Bounty.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

78 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, he has to increase the gift payment to old age pensioners on reaching 100 years of age; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18822/98]

The payment the Deputy is referring to is the centenarians' bounty which was last increased from £250 to £300 on 1 January 1996. There are no plans at present to increase it further.
