Vol. 494 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

97 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be admitted to Tullamore General Hospital to have an orthopaedic procedure carried out on her knee; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18915/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
