Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

205 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a 1998 sheep headage payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and the reason digitalisation problems have occurred in 1998 with this person's application in view of the fact they were rectified in 1997. [19549/98]

The maps in connection with the area aid application for the person concerned are currently being processed. Any payment due to the person should issue within the next four weeks.

Question:

206 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if digitalisation will cause delays again in 1998 in the payments of agriculture grants; if so, the reason for this in view of the fact that applicants were assured in 1997 that the problems had been rectified; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19550/98]

Digitising of all additional maps received in respect of 1998 area aid applications has been completed. In those cases, however, where applicants did not submit the necessary maps, or where the digitising process has uncovered possible overclaim, my Department is communicating directly with the applicants concerned. Digitising is therefore an ongoing process in these cases.
