Vol. 495 No. 1

Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

I call on Deputy Noonan to state the matter in respect of which he is seeking the Adjournment of the House.

I move the Adjournment of the Dáil to discuss the allegations made in Magill magazine concerning the relationship and settlements between the Revenue Commissioners and Allied Irish Banks on the taxation liability of non-resident accounts; the alleged agreements between the commissioners and the bank concerning non-prosecution and secrecy; and any further investigation by the commissioners into this matter.

Having considered the matter fully I do not consider it to be contemplated by Standing Order 31. Therefore, I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
