Question:

133 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if his attention has been drawn to a development at Tomroe Point on the Boyne being undertaken by the Drogheda Port Company; if he will confirm that the land upon which this development is taking place is owned by his Department and leased by the company; and if he will make a copy of the lease document available. [19462/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 132 and 133 together.

I can confirm that the land development in question is taking place on State-owned foreshore. A lease under the Foreshore Act 1933 was granted on 1 September 1986 to Messrs Molloy and Sons Limited in respect of an area at Tomroe's Point.

In 1994, the property was assigned to Drogheda Harbour Commissioners now Drogheda Port Company. I recently agreed to lease an additional adjoining area of foreshore to the company.

I have arranged to have copies of the maps and other documents requested supplied to the Deputy.
