Vol. 495 No. 4

Written Answers. - Health Board Allowances.

John McGuinness

Question:

240 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have an investigation made into the refusal of the mobility allowance to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who qualified on medical grounds but was refused on the basis of being over the income limit. [20417/98]

Assessment of entitlement to a mobility allowance in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, I have referred the Deputy's question to the chief executive officer, South-Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the query and issue a direct reply to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
