97 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of civil court proceedings currently in progress in which he has been named as the principal respondent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20028/98]

There are four cases of civil court proceedings currently in progress in which I have been named as principal or joint defendant or respondent.

It would not be appropriate for me to comment on cases before the courts.
