79 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Defence if he will provide figures on the cost of consultancies undertaken by the private sector for his Department for each of the years from 1995 to 1997 and the forecasted figure for 1998. [20710/98]
The cost of consultancies undertaken by the private sector for the Department for each of the years from 1995 to 1997 is as follows: 1995, £213,216.00; 1996, £266,240.06; 1997, £399,875.16.
The forecasted figure for 1998 is £1,080,926.80 which includes an estimated figure of £500,000 in respect of consultancy to design a new fishery control system for the Naval Service.
