The number of public health nurses, basic grade, senior and superintendent, speech therapists, basic grade, principal I, principal II and senior, social workers basic grade, head, head medical, medical, professionally qualified, psychiatric, senior, senior medical, single handed and team leader, employed by each health board is set out in the following table. In addition to the 263.72 speech therapists employed in the health boards, a further 17.83 are employed in voluntary hospitals.

I have been informed by the Southern Health Board that, as of 16 October 1998, there are 570 permanent staff nurses and 120 temporary staff nurses working in Cork University Hospital.
