201 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Defence the individual appointed Maor or Fomhaor of the Curragh as defined under the Curragh of Kildare Act, 1969. [21372/98]

The Department employs four land staff to work on the Curragh, the Maor and three Fomhaor. The Maor is Mr. H. Smith while the Fomhaor are Mr. P. Bolger, Mr. M. Donnelly and Mr. T. Nolan.

202 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Defence if he has appointed a manager of the Curragh of Kildare; if so, the individual appointed; and the Act, by-law or regulation under which the appointment was made. [21373/98]

The management of the Curragh rests with the property management branch of my Department. Officials of that branch are involved on an ongoing basis in the management of the Curragh and its environs.
