677 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will exempt craft apprentices from payment of student services fees to institutes of technology in view of the unique nature of their position as student and employee; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21284/98]

The question of the student services fee to be paid by craft apprentices in institutes of technology is currently the subject of discussion involving my Department, the institutes of technology and FÁS.
