Vol. 496 No. 1

Written Answers. - Marine Accidents.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

69 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the steps, if any, he has taken to implement the recommendations of the report on the investigation of marine casualties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21958/98]

As the Deputy will be aware, I have recently published the report of the investigation of marine casualties policy review group which was established to review the existing policy, procedures and legislative framework for maritime casualty investigations in Ireland.

I have already accepted the general thrust and content of the report and I will shortly be bringing proposals to Government to address the recommendations made by the review group.
