Vol. 496 No. 2

Written Answers. - Ministerial Meetings.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

47 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will meet the newly appointed German Foreign Minister in the near future; and, if so, the likely issues for discussion. [22076/98]

I shall meet the newly appointed German Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Joschka Fischer, at the General Affairs Council in Brussels on Monday next, 9 November 1998. I would hope to have the opportunity to meet him for detailed bilateral discussions as soon as dates can be mutually agreed. I would expect to have an exchange of views with him on matters concerning Agenda 2000, enlargement of the European Union, the international economic situation and developments in Russia and eastern Europe in general and in the Balkans.
