Written Answers. - Army Barracks.

Willie Penrose

Question:

110 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Defence if he will make a statement regarding his plans for Army barracks and installations in County Donegal; and the plans, if any, he has to upgrade these facilities. [22984/98]

Between 1994 and 1998 new building projects and refurbishment works at military installations in County Donegal were completed at a cost of £1.3 million. Work on projects estimated to cost £1 million, including the provision of a new NCOs' mess at Finner Camp and the refurbishment of the NCOs' privates' mess at Lifford military post, is ongoing and will be completed in 1999. Further refurbishment projects, with an estimated cost of £400,000 are expected to be undertaken in 2000. Maintenance works at military installations in County Donegal will continue to be undertaken as required.
