Vol. 496 No. 6

Written Answers - Farm Retirement Scheme.

Ivan Yates

Question:

165 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if an early retirement scheme application for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be approved in view of the fact that all outstanding documentation was submitted and applied for before the applicant subsequently died; and when approval will be given and the application fully processed. [23473/98]

An application can only be considered valid when it is accompanied by all the required material. In this case, while an application was received on the day on which the applicant died all the necessary accompanying material was not provided at that time. In particular, the leases were not stamped by the Revenue Commissioners nor had Land Commission consent been obtained. In the circumstances, the aplication was not valid and cannot be processed.
