Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case (1) Deputy Seán Ryan — the need for the Government to recognise the role of carers in health care in Ireland, to provide them with improved services and to ensure they are paid for their work; (2) Deputy Noel Ahern — the need to discuss the suspension of staff from the Botanic Gardens and the efforts to solve this dispute; (3) Deputy Upton — the need for an increase in Dublin peak hour capacity on public transport; (4) Deputy Durkan — the disallowance of disability benefits in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; (5) Deputy Shatter — the need for the Minister to meet with representatives from Sinn Féin concerning the cancellation of the football match between the RUC and Donegal Celtic which was to have been played on 14 November; (6) Deputy Hayes — the need for the Government to outline its plans concerning the sum of money seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau since its establishment and the Government's intentions in relation to amending the Proceeds of Crime Act, 1996, so as to ring-fence such finance for areas worst affected by the drugs epidemic; (7) Deputy Kenny — the issue of the approval of tenders for the building of phase II of Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar, to cost approximately £25 million, in respect of which tenders have been submitted for a number of months; (8) Deputy Timmins — the need to discuss the scaling down of the military police range warden service in the Glen of Imaal, County Wicklow; (9) Deputy Deenihan — the grave concern expressed by hill sheep farmers following the recent announcement by the Minister for Agriculture and Food that they would lose 30 per cent of their quota rights by 4 December 1998.

The matters raised by Deputies Upton, Timmins, Kenny and Noel Ahern have been selected for discussion.
