344 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will sanction funding for an extension of an existing water scheme (details supplied) in County Mayo to ensure that a quality water supply is available for an entire area. [23796/98]

A preliminary report for the proposed scheme has been submitted to my Department. Given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage services investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this proposal.
