Vol. 496 No. 6

Written Answers - Garda Stations.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

383 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the long-term proposals, if any, he has in respect of the provision of a Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare, in view of the previous indication of availability of sites and so on; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23538/98]

It is proposed to build a new Garda station at Leixlip. The Office of Public Works is in the process of acquiring a site for same. When a site is purchased detailed planning for the scheme will commence. It is expected that the new station will be open on a 24 hour basis.
