Vol. 496 No. 6

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

Joe Higgins

Question:

408 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in the commencement of phase II of Castleknock community college; when the work will commence; and the projected date for completion of the work. [23494/98]

The planning and building unit of my Department is presently examining the final tender report for phase two of Castleknock community college.

This examination will be completed shortly following which the project will be ready to proceed to construction.

There has been no delay in commencing this important project, and I would remind the Deputy that it is only able to proceed because of the major increase in school capital funding provided by this Government.
