Michael Ring

Question:

46 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the length of time a person whose commonage is not overgrazed or overstocked can expect to wait to receive the 30 per cent remainder of 1998 ewe premia while the framework plan is being drawn up. [24244/98]

The position is that payment of the first and second instalments of 1998 ewe premium has already been made in full to all eligible applicants. Payment of the third and final instalment will not fall due until spring 1999. There is no question of withholding 30 per cent of this premium from any eligible applicant.
