Vol. 497 No. 1

Written Answers. - Agricultural Schemes.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

51 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he has asked his Department to review the needs of farmers in district electoral divisions (details supplied) in County Donegal in relation to the payment of the 1998 special fodder supplement grant in view of the continual deterioration in the weather situation in the north west. [24264/98]

Funding under the fodder scheme is being targeted at the worst affected areas which have been independently identified by Teagasc. The same general procedures for selecting these areas were followed in all counties and while farmers in other areas were also affected by the fodder crisis, the aim of the present scheme is to give some assistance in the areas worst affected.
