Question:

163 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a REP scheme payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24694/98]

I understand that an appeal has been lodged in relation to a penalty imposed on the second year payment in this case. This matter will be dealt with as soon as possible.

With regard to the third year application, this case was recently selected for a compliance inspection. When the inspection has been completed the application will be processed.

Question:

165 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if area aid problems will be resolved for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; if 1998 cattle headage payments will be released; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24696/98]

No area aid application was received from the person named in 1998 and without a valid area aid application for the relevant year, headage payments cannot issue to a herdowner.
