Visit of British Prime Minister: Motion.

I move:

That, to welcome the Right Honourable Mr. Tony Blair M.P., Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, on the occasion of his visit to Ireland, and to mark his visit in a signal manner, a joint sitting of both Houses of the Oireachtas be held in the Dáil Chamber on Thursday, 26 November, 1998, and that the Prime Minister be invited to address such a joint sitting; that the proceedings at such joint sitting shall consist of a speech by the Ceann Comhairle welcoming the Prime Minister, the address by the Prime Minister and a speech of thanks by the Cathaoirleach of the Seanad for the address; and that the time for such joint sitting shall be 10.30 a.m.
