Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

169 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Donegal is experiencing difficulties in headage payments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25756/98]

Difficulties have arisen in processing the area aid application of the person named and the person is being informed. When these have been resolved, any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

170 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment will be made under the second year's REP scheme for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick in view of the fact the farm inspection was carried out on 11 November 1998. [25762/98]

This application was subject to a plan examination and on—farm inspection. The REPS plan was found to contain a number of deficiencies which need to be rectified in a revised agri—environmental plan. My Department wrote to the person named on the 25 November 1998 informing him of this. His REPS planner has also been written to outlining the deficiencies and requesting that a revised agri—environmental plan be submitted. When the revised agri—environmental plan has been received the application will be processed.

171 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the difficulties that have arisen regarding payment of cattle and sheep headage grants for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, having regard to the replies to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 287 of 3 November and 149 of 24 November 1998. [25763/98]

As stated in a previous reply on 3 November 1998, the person named was cleared for payment. However, it was one of a small number of cases where an IT system error occurred. This error has now been rectified and payments will issue as soon as possible.

172 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason incorrect information was given out regarding cattle headage grants for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [25764/98]

As stated in a previous reply on 10 November 1998, the person named was cleared for payment. However, it was one of a small number of cases where an IT system error occurred. This error has now been rectified and payments will issue as soon as possible.

The area aid application of the person named was processed and appeared to have no outstanding queries. However, the processing of another herdowner's application resulted in a duplicate claim on one of the parcels claimed by the person named. Maps have issued to the two herdowners concerned to resolve the duplicate claim.
