Vol. 498 No. 3

Written Answers - School Staffing.

Michael Creed

Question:

180 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received an application from Ballymoney national school, Ballineen, County Cork, for a remedial teacher; and if he will make arrangements for this appointment. [27204/98]

I recently announced my intention of ensuring that every primary school in the country will have access to a remedial teacher service from September 1999.

While I understand that my Department does not have a current application for a remedial service from the school in question, I assure the Deputy that the needs of the school will be taken fully into account in the context of my commitment to the extension of the service to all primary schools.
