Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has concluded her considerations on the consultant's report on the outlook for the refining industry and the financial challenges facing Irish National Petroleum Corporation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to my reply to her question on 10 November 1998 on this subject.

I am happy to be able to confirm that work is well advanced on consideration of the consultant's report and on assessment of the strategic business plan prepared by INPC for the period 1998 to 2005. I am confident that the Government will have an opportunity to consider my proposals for the future of INPC and the refinery at Whitegate in the New Year.
